Dr. Suess has touched the lives of so many, so as today marks his 108th birthday it only seems fit to celebrate the day with a little Dr. Suess fun!
Green Eggs And Ham
Surprise your kids today by serving up a dish of Green Eggs and Ham! A simple Google search will yield many variations of this classic recipe, but here in our house I prefer to keep it easy peasy….
Green Eggs: Scrambled eggs colored with green food coloring. (I use India Tree)
Ham: A few pieces of sliced ham from the deli.
Pink Yink Ink Drink
The Yink in One Fish, Two Fish slurps this stuff up. So mix it real good and then pour in a cup!
- ½ pint fresh or ½ cup frozen blackberries
- 1 cup milk
- 6 fresh strawberries (green tops removed) or ½ cup frozen strawberries, thawed
- 1 tsp honey
Put the blackberries in a blender and puree them.
Pour into a large glass.
Put the milk, strawberries and honey in a blender and blend.
Strain the mixture (optional).
Pour the strawberry mixture carefully on top of the blackberry mixture

I am so excited to see one of my favorite Dr. Suess books come to the big screen! This movie deals with an important environmental topic we all need to think about- what will happen if we use up all the beauty in our wonderful world? I hope this movie really gets people thinking! We usually wait until movies come out on DVD to watch them, but since this movie has such an important message I just might fork over the dough and take the kids to see this one in 3-D as a special treat. If you are looking to get out of the house this evening with your kidlets, go see The Lorax in honor of good old Dr. Suess- we just might do the same!
