Upcycled Wine Bottle Plant Nanny

Upcycled Wine Bottle Ideas

The past few months have been the most trying and difficult months of my life, and while I can’t go into great detail, I will say I still have a long and bumpy road ahead. So with that being said, I must admit I have recently acquired a new-found love for wine! No, I haven’t become an alcoholic, and I’m not spending my days drinking my woes away, but I have discovered that a small glass of wine after a long and stressful day can be most delightful. From chardonnays to pino noirs, there’s a whole new world for the new wine lover to explore, and then there’s the ever so perplexing dilemma- what to do with the empty wine bottle?

Sure, the simple solution would be to toss the empty wine bottle in the recycle bin, but being the eco-crazy mom I am, I just couldn’t do it. Wine bottles are so pretty, and so elegant, I knew there had to be a better way!

After a quick search online my head was spinning with possibilities, take this infographic by dARKASHADE for example …

Such amazing ideas, however most a bit more time consuming than I have to spare.

Then, I came across a most genius solution- one that would save time, not take time, and requires absolutely no work at all…

The Upcycled Wine Bottle Plant Nanny!

The picture says it all: Simply fill wine bottle with water, stick it in a flower pot and voila- a plant nanny!

I am so bad about remembering to water our house plants, the wine bottle plant nanny is the perfect solution. At first I thought it might look a bit odd having all of our plants adorned with wine bottles, but it’s actually been quite the conversation starter, and everyone loves it!

Will you give it a try?

I kill almost every plant I get from not watering it, so I am definitely going to have to try this out. I also love the wall vases!

  5. I have been seeing so many great wine bottle crafts and I very much like the plant watering technique but I rarely have wine! I suppose an olive oil bottle would work just as well here though.

Now I’m sad. I have no time OR wine. :P
